Hey, that’s my gong!

This little beauty has such a soft yet deep feel. I requested a Sri Yantra gong from Raven Sounds when my honey was importing gongs. And this beauty emerged as a result. She is a 28” wind gong with a base note of E that has sweet bright overtones. AND she has a fancy way of creating her own echo - which I find delicious and fascinating.

One of the yummiest parts of interacting with her is the dive into the visual of the Sri Yantra that she adorns; the Yantra 's subtle motion in vibration pulls me into a space and time that transports me into a plane of meditation that is stunningly pervasive.

The Shri Yantra is the sacred symbol of the cosmic vision of the unity of all mantras, "the fabric of consciousness weaving everything together." Its origins are rooted in the Vedic traditions of India and have been used for centuries in the spiritual traditions of yoga, Hinduism and Buddhism. Yantras are considered to be a sacred geometric symbol, an instrument or tool for meditation. The Sri Yantra (or Shree Yantra) is referred to as the Queen of Yantras as it is said to represent the divine mother, source of all energy, power and creativity; it's the core of devotion.

I’ll leave it there for now, the attempt at concisely defining the Sri Yantra, as one could compose a lengthy dissertation on the history, representation, meaning and use of the Sri Yantra. Simply put, my personal experience with this gong in combination with the visual meditation of the yantra while playing and listening is nothing short of potent.
