Poem: Go to the Garden
Sharing with you ~ many of you in attendance, resting and rejuvenating at Mystic Heart Sound Baths have asked for words, poems and essays that I have shared during our time together. As requested, I will be sharing more of those words, either written by myself or other writers here on my blog as the coming days unfold. It is always my intention to couple these words with my photography as well. You can also find poems/essays shared at Mystic Heart Sound Baths, in my Mystic Heart monthly newsletter from time to time. Below are the words from poet: Marie Eaton:
When the heartache of the world closes in,
and I am battered by sound bites and shouting.
When sorrow creeps up next to me
and wraps her cold hand around my heart.
When misery sits deep in my belly,
and everything tastes like ashes.
Then I go to the garden
to breathe in green.
Lie down in a meadow
with my belly to the ground,
and listen to small things
tell me stories of consistency and cycles,
of time and timelessness.
I go to the garden
to breathe the scent of sage and rosemary.
Bury my face in their leaves
and listen to their secret stories
of wisdom and remembrance.
Bathe in the sympathy
offered by lemon balm
and the comfort of chamomile
I go to my garden. ~GO TO THE GARDEN by Marie Eaton
